Tom Brosseau and friends sing the Carter Family

Tom is from the Great Plains, has lived in SoCal, traveled everywhere, met a lot of interesting people, and currently resides with his young family in Utah. Memories of Folk Heritage concerts past compelled him to reach out to us to schedule this show celebrating the works of the Carter Family. Tom has explored the 300 or so Carter recordings and captured a bunch on his newest release In The Shadow Of The Hill: Songs from the Carter Family catalogue Vol. 1, in which he was joined by his longtime collaborator Sean Watkins. Tom’s other San Diego connections include Gregory Page, Lou Curtiss, and Sam Hinton – pretty good credentials!

Chris Thile records his songs; Bonnie Raitt calls him “a soulful cat,” SXSW and Newport Folk Festival give him stage time; this should be a wonderfully unique and possibly magical evening.

Tom is bringing out some of his friends to help make this a special once-in-a-lifetime event. You will want to be there!
Gregory Page, local music stalwart and international touring personality.
Virginia Curtiss, half the team of Lou and Virginia Curtiss, and a deep reservoir of folk knowledge in her own right.
John C. Riley, LA actor (Dr. Watson, Oliver Hardy, Wreck-it Ralph) and organizer of John Riley and Friends roots band.

Check out Tom’s feature article in the Troubadour magazine, maybe October?
