This month, Jeff Berkley’s Sunday Songwriter Showcase (co-sponsored by San Diego Folk Heritage and the San Diego Troubadour) features Anna Ballew and Omo Cloud (Tickets available at https://www.thejazzlounge.live/ NOT the Ticketweb link below).
Anna Ballew hails from Montana with a background in classical violin and bluegrass fiddle. When her musical tastes shifted to jazz and funk, she began to model her sound around artists like Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Allen Stone and Hiatus Kiayote. She brings a fresh, groovy vibe to classic standards, pop covers and modern R&B hits and is currently working on an album to be released in the next year.
Omo Cloud is a non-binary singer-songwriter who grew up in San Diego hanging out in vocal booths and studios as the child of two musicians. They are known for crafting atmospheric, emotionally rich soundscapes that blend ambient textures with subtle rhythmic elements. Drawing influence from downtempo, lo-fi, and experimental electronic genres, Omo Cloud creates music that feels both intimate and expansive.
